The Creative Professional: A Business Book for Creative People
This is the cover I designed and illustrated for the newest edition of a book my dad wrote. The first edition was available in print form, but he decided to self-publish the second edition as an eBook. The second edition of the book is not available to buy yet, but will be shortly. When it’s available, I’ll post a link here. In the mean time, check out my dad’s blog Digital Insider. He mainly likes writing about cameras, music, and technology.
© All Rights Reserved The Barber’s Nightmare I wonder how many barbers in the world have had this nightmare before. In other news, for the past two weeks or so I’ve been keeping a small drawing pad right next to my bed. I keep this drawing pad there so every night, before I go to sleep, I have to draw something. Some of the better drawing ideas I’ll develop into finished illustrations and post on this blog soon.

Long Island is home to some of the best bagel stores in the world. I drew this to celebrate their tastiness.

I decided to draw a president last night, so I ended up with Harry S. Truman. I thought briefly about drawing Taft since he had a cool mustache, but Harry won.

This is a pencil sketch I made in 2003. Ballet was never something I thought I’d end up learning how to do, but a couple years later I found myself doing chassé and grande plié ballet steps across the college classroom floor. In case you were wondering, this fat cat is doing a demi plié with arms in the second ballet position. I probably would have never known this if I had not taken dance courses during college.

Hi, welcome to my illustration blog. My name is Mike and I’m mostly self-taught at drawing. This illustration is from the cover of a small notebook I drew during a road trip to New Hampshire in January 2010. I will attempt to post at least one new illustration every week. That’s the goal. See you later.
